I love being part of Capgemini’s growth and being part of a global company.

We sat down with Yosabeth Avila to hear about her #LifeAtCapgemini and what her journey has looked like so far. We came away with some interesting insights into her daily role and how she’s progressed through her career at Capgemini. We also got to take a deep dive with her into one of the programs she’s recently attended – the Emerging Leadership Program – and found out how the program has enriched her career.

  • What is your current role? What does your day-to-day look like at Capgemini?

I am a proud team member of the Global Win Center Business Services as a Client Visit Experience and Bid Coordination manager supporting the Guatemala and North America Delivery Centers. My day-to-day work is an exciting journey, with lots of activities. What I enjoy the most is looking for the right solutions for my internal clients, and my personal and professional objective is to help generate new leads and opportunities.

  • How did you get to where you are today?

I am here thanks to the opportunities that Capgemini has provided me. I feel inspired by my managers and I try to take advantage of the training and development opportunities that the company offers. Being strategic and visualizing where I wanted to be when I joined Capgemini helped a lot, and now I can say that I am where I wanted to be when I started this journey.

  • What is most rewarding about your career?

The most rewarding part of my career is knowing that my expertise is appreciated and that my managers trust me to lead different initiatives and projects, knowing that I have enough space to grow and opportunities to expand my professional career.

  • What do you love or ace about your career?

I love being part of Capgemini’s growth and being part of a global company allows me to grow personally and professionally. I have achieved great things thanks to the opportunities that I have had at Capgemini.

  • What was your experience like in the Emerging Leadership Program?

The Emerging Leadership Program (ELP) was a great learning experience for me. I had the opportunity to take part at the Serge Kampf Les Fontaines campus, and I met inspirational leaders and colleagues who helped me to develop my leadership knowledge and to focus on my expertise. Spending time with exceptional facilitators who presented relevant topics and the two executives who shared their experience and professional journey enriched this program immensely.

  • What were some of the key learnings you took home?

There were a lot of important topics on the agenda of ELP, but the key learnings that I took home were my personal leadership brand, the importance of body language as a leader, my future self-reflection and my coaching skills as a leader to develop my team. The experience that I had will help me to work on creating great experiences for our Business Services clients and other visitors.

  • How has the program impacted or changed you?

The program had a strong impact on some professional and personal decisions, it made me focus on what’s important for my development as a leader, the development of my team and of course how I represent Capgemini and give back to my company. Now I understand that I can translate my positive energy into exceptional experiences for our clients, provide great support for our sales team and develop my team through a win- win environment.

  • In what ways has the program helped you accelerate your career?

I feel that living this experience provided me a lot of professional confidence. I understood the value of my leadership skills and my expertise.

  • Why is this a unique or special program?

This is not a theoretical program and I loved discovering some of the strengths of my professional profile that I didn’t know about before. It was all about having a professional vision and unleashing my expertise and working to achieve my professional and personal objectives.

  • Would you recommend this program? Who can most benefit from this program?

Absolutely. I would recommend this program to those who want to develop their leadership capabilities. It’s also great opportunity to network and explore what is happening within other parts of the business , which gives you a better idea of where the company is going and all the possibilities that Capgemini provides for our career paths.
